Czego uczy się na Kulturoznawstwie?

Na studiach kulturoznawczych kształci się młodą kadrę menadżerów, animatorów kultury i trendseterów. Studenci zaangażowani są w międzynarodową wymianę myśli i osiągnięć naukowych, otrzymują klasyczne wykształcenie kulturoznawcze, obejmujące teorię i historię kultury, studia nad kulturami tradycyjnymi, wiedzę na temat literatury, sztuki, filmu, teatru i nowych mediów, dzięki czemu rozumieją współczesną kulturę i potrafią się w niej sprawnie poruszać. Kształcimy w zakresie komunikacji międzykulturowej, aby absolwenci byli przygotowani do działania w środowisku wielokulturowym i sprostali wyzwaniom nowych trendów w kulturze. Uszczegółowienie i pogłębienie wiedzy zapewniają zajęcia fakultatywne, wybierane przez studenta z puli oferowanej przez inne wydziały Uniwersytetu Opolskiego.

Kształcenie na studiach licencjackich (3-letnich) stacjonarnych odbywa się w ramach następujących obszarów kształcenia:

Social media manager: Absolwent otrzymuje wiedzę dotyczącą zarządzania mediami społecznościowymi i społecznością w internecie, poznaje kulturowe aspekty mediów społecznościowych, podstawy marketingu, wiedzę dotyczącą budowania marki/wizerunku, a także umiejętności w zakresie grafiki komputerowej. Umożliwia się mu  poznanie zasad formułowania przekazów medialnych, poznaje sposoby rozwiązywania konfliktów i zarządzania sytuacją kryzysową. Zdobywane umiejętności pozwalają na zatrudnienie w różnych organizacjach biznesowych w każdej branży, której pracodawcy tworzą społeczność swoich pracowników lub w działach marketingu będąc odpowiedzialnym za zarządzanie społecznością klientów danej marki

Fashion kultura i promocja: Absolwent otrzymuje wiedzę dotyczącą historii oraz współczesnych trendów świata mody, a także organizowania eventów modowych, podstaw marketingu, budowania reputacji marki, zarządzania firmą. Umożliwia się mu  poznanie zasad formułowania przekazów medialnych, podstaw dziennikarstwa modowego. Zdobywane umiejętności pozwalają na zatrudnienie w agencjach i firmach z otoczenia mody, w redakcjach pism modowych oraz o tematyce lifestylowej (fashion editors), agencjach konsultingowych zajmujących się modą, a także szeroko rozumianym marketingu.

Popkultura i nowe media: Absolwent otrzymuje wiedzę dotyczącą współczesnej kultury popularnej i zagadnień związanych z nowymi mediami, blogo- i vlogosferą, historią science-fiction, kulturą pulp i komiksu, filmu popularnego. Umożliwia się mu  poznanie zasad formułowania przekazów medialnych, podstaw dziennikarstwa oraz strategii reklamy. Zdobywane umiejętności pozwalają na zatrudnienie w instytucjach kultury, w redakcjach pism, a także szeroko rozumianym marketingu.

Działalność studencka

Studenci kierunku Kulturoznawstwo mają szansę rozwoju pasji i zainteresowań w ramach organizacji studenckich. Są to przede wszystkim koła naukowe m.in.: Koło Naukowe Kulturoznawców, Koło Naukowe Teatrologów, Koło Naukowe Literatury Współczesnej, Koło Naukowe Literatury i Kultury Modernizmu, Koło Naukowe Onomastów, Koło Naukowe Staropolskie „Gryf”.

Studenci mają możliwość wyjazdu na stypendia do innych ośrodków naukowych (także uczelni zagranicznych) w ramach programu Erasmus oraz MOST. Najaktywniejsi studenci otrzymują stypendia naukowe, mogą też wybrać indywidualny plan studiów (IPS) bądź indywidualną organizację studiów (IOS), w ramach których student ma możliwość pracowania pod bezpośrednią opieką pracownika naukowego.

Możliwość udziału w prężnie działającym ruchu studenckim oraz praktyki w rozmaitych placówkach i instytucjach kulturalnych zapewniają doświadczenie potrzebne w przyszłej pracy zawodowej.

Sylwetka absolwenta

Absolwent studiów I stopnia uzyskuje tytuł zawodowy licencjata w dziedzinie kulturoznawstwa i jest przygotowany do organizowania pracy, podejmowania samodzielnych decyzji, kompetentnej obsługi petentów oraz prowadzenia spraw instytucji.

Absolwenci Kulturoznawstwa (I stopnia) znajdują zatrudnienie m.in. w:

  • mediach publicznych, instytucjach i urzędach kultury,
  • wydawnictwach,
  • archiwach,
  • organach administracji publicznej, urzędach, instytucjach i organizacjach, gdzie najważniejsze kompetencje mają charakter komunikacyjny,
  • branży PR, reklamie,
  • agencjach i frmach z otoczenia mody,
  • redakcjach pism modowych oraz o tematyce lifestylowej (fashion editors),
  • agencjach konsultngowych zajmujących się modą.

Kontynuowanie nauki na II stopniu studiów

Absolwent studiów I stopnia na kierunku Kulturoznawstwo może kontynuować naukę na kierunku Game studies II stopnia.

Access to further studies:

The first-cycle studies prepare graduates for further education at the second-cycle studies.

Professional status:

The graduate receives general humanistic education, which is based on the context of issues, enriching and broadening knowledge and practical skills, as well as field education - in cultural studies - including detailed knowledge of cultural studies, research and communication skills, as well as social competences, which ensure a job in line with the qualification. The graduate is prepared to make commitments to tradition, contemporary culture and the future, which, in the face of globalisation trends, are of paramount importance. He/she also obtains work experience (in the form of internship), and occupational preparation in the scope of the completed specialisation. He/she is prepared to undertake the second-cycle studies.

Learning outcomes

Full qualification at the sixth level of the Polish Qualification Framework.

The graduate of the Cultural Studies programme knows:
- at an advanced level, selected facts, objects and phenomena of culture and connected methods, and cultural, sociological and literary theories explaining complex dependencies between them, forming the basic general knowledge in the field of culture studies, forming their theoretical basis, and selected issues of the detailed knowledge of cultural studies;
- the place and significance of cultural studies among humanities and social sciences, their nature and their methodological difference and the directions of their development;
- theories, methodology and general and detailed terminology of cultural studies;
- methods of analysis and interpretation of texts and culture products from selected traditions, theories and research schools in cultural studies (with the possibility of associating them with methods specific to literary and art studies, communication science and social sciences);
- fundamental dilemmas of modern culture and civilisation in terms of their research and application for solving social problems;
- the basic economic, legal and other considerations, and concepts connected with cultural research and its application;
- rules of the protection of intellectual property and copyright law, and the form of development of individual entrepreneurship;
- principles of the operation of cultural systems and institutions relevant to the scope of the professional activity appropriate for cultural studies (inter alia, educational, cultural, and media activities);
- contents related to the elective module (knowledge listed under a separate description of learning outcomes of elective module).

The graduate of the Culture Studies programme can:
- use their knowledge of culture studies, formulate and solve complex and unusual problems concerning contemporary culture phenomena and the activity of cultural institutions, and perform tasks in conditions not fully predictable thanks to: proper selection of sources and information derived from them, assess, critical analysis and synthesis of information, selection and application of appropriate methods and tools, including advanced information and communication technologies (ICTs);
- formulate and analyse research problems, choose methods and tools for solving them, using knowledge of cultural studies (with the possibility of taking into account the knowledge of related sciences);
- recognize texts and other creations of culture and carry out their critical analysis and interpretation with the use of standard methods for cultural studies allowing for an assessment of their relevance and impact in the historical and cultural process;
- communicate with the use of specialist terminology for the description of cultural phenomena
- take part in a debate - present and evaluate different opinions and positions in terms of culture and discuss them;
- use a foreign language at the level of at least B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages
- plan and organize individual and team work;
- independently plan and carry out their own learning throughout life;
- use the knowledge and experience related to the elective module (skills listed under a separate description of learning outcomes of elective module).

Graduate of the Culture Studies programme is ready to:
- critically assess their knowledge of culture studies and recognise the importance of knowledge of the culture and operation of cultural institutions in solving cognitive and practical problems;
- fulfil social obligations, to co-organise actions for social environment, initiate actions for public interest, and think and act resourcefully;
- responsibly exercise professional roles, including: comply with the rules of professional ethics and require it from others, and care about the tradition and achievements of the profession;
- participate in cultural life and use its various forms;
- function competently, responsibly and ethically in the area defined by the elective module (social competences listed under a separate description of learning outcomes of elective module).
