2. The State as a Community of Christian Values St. Augustine and the medieval idea of society (organicism) in the thought of Saint. Thomas Aquinas.
3. E.Nicollo Machiavelli, connections between politics and morality.
4. The idea of natural law in the 17th century: the concept of the natural state and the social contract of Thomas Hobbes and John Lock.
5. Social philosophy of the Enlightenment: Montesquieu - the power of sociological imagination, Jean-Jacques Rousseau the eulogist of nature and freedom.
6. Claude Henri de Saint-Simon's social theory: the idea of social science, industrial society - the dichotomy of social structure.
7. The idea of the positivist era. August Comte's project of sociology: hierarchy of sciences, social statics and dynamics, natural sciences and sociology.
8. Emil Durkheim's sociological thought: the evolution of society from one defined by mechanical solidarity to one defined by organic solidarity. 9
