to familiarise the students with leading methods of teaching EFL
to discuss the principles and assumptions of the selected methods and approaches
to bring to the students' attention and awareness the role of a teacher and a learner and their relationship within leading methods of teaching

to present lesson structure within particular methods of teaching

1. The place of didactics in the field of pedagogy, as well as the subject and tasks of contemporary didactics and the relationship of general didactics to specific didactics (M_N_C.W01)
2. the role of a teacher, teacher-learner relationship, methods of communication for teaching purposes and the principles of classroom management and selected methods and approaches to EFL teaching considering learner needs (N_W15/P7S_WG; M_N_C.W02; M_N_C.W03; M_N_C.W05; M_N_C.W07).
3. Issues of the lesson as a teaching unit and its structure, styles and techniques of working with students; classroom interactions; teaching resources (M_N_C.W04)

5. identify and analyse pedagogical classroom actions which reflect the principles of the selected methods and/or approaches to EFL teaching (N_U01/P7S_UW).
6. think critically in order to select and design adequate teaching materials, reflecting the didactic and pedagogical needs of EFL learners and educational institutions (N_U02/P7S_UW).

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
1. Active participation in class - 50% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
2. The end-of-term assignment - 50% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
pass at 60%
