Student knows and understands
1. the role of English as a cognitive means and a tool used for studying, text analysis and text translation in a social context (k_W03/P7S_WG)
2. legal, ethical and linguistic considerations regardin social aspects of translation (k_W07/P7S_WK)

Skils:
Student can
3. use the acquired knowledge and skills to deepen their academic interests in the intra- and interdisciplinary dimension of social asepcts of translation (k_U08/P7S_UU)
4. translate selected texts from their mother tongue into English in order to use them or make them available to other students (k_U09/P7S_UU)

Social competence:
Student is ready to
5. critically evaluate and solve problems arising from the implementation of professional tasks such as text creation and translation or language support in institutions and enterprises (k_K02/P7S_KK)
6. comply with the rules of professional ethics and develop their English language skills in the process translation (k_K05/P7S_KR)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:

1. Written translation assignment - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. A short assignment - 20% of the final grade (outcome 5,6)
2. Presentation on a selected aspect of translator's profession - 40%of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,5)

Practical component - submit 1 translation
Technological component - submit a short assignment (to pass)
Students’ presentations:
–In groups (2-3 people), prepare a 15-minute-long presentation on a piece of research on social aspects of translation and present it to the group (online)

•Final credit: mean of 2 grades + pass on technological component
