Course objectives:
The main aim of the course is to improve pronunciation of vowels, diphthongs and consonants.

Course content:
Practicing sound pronunciation, vowel length differentiation, production exercises and minimal pair differentiation, reading a phonetic transcription, word transcribing, short vowels, long vowels, diphthongs, tripthongs, plosive consonants, nasal consonants, other consonants.

Methods of instruction/forms of classroom activity:
individual and group work, practical language exercises, repeating recorded sounds, reading transcribed sounds, transcribing, working with computer programme „Say it right”, ICT tools/MSTeams if needed

Assessment criteria
Form of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in classes - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)
2. Oral tests - pronuncing sounds in isolation and in a text, reading sounds from transcription - 40% of the final grade (outcome 2,4)
3. Transcription tests - transcribing individual sounds and words - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,3)
pass at 60%
