Course objectives
- elaborating on main research methods within the chosen seminar
- elaborating on theoretical models and research paradigms
- elaborating on the stylistic and formal guidelines for BA project writing
- giving the students specialist knowledge to write their own BA diploma paper

Course content
1. Identifying research objects in the context of current developments in the chosen discipline linguistics, literary studies, cultural studies)
2. Framing research objectives and formulating theses, hypotheses and research questions within the scope of the discipline
3. Doing a literature review in relations to a chosen aspect of theory/methodology/analysis
4. Selecting methods, procedures and analytic tools to match research objectives
5. Reporting on and discussing results in quantitative and qualitative approaches
6. Concluding, identifying implications for further research and limitations of the study

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in classes and consultations - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,10,11)
2. Evaluation of the style, form and content of BA theses - 55% of the final grade (outcome 4,5,6,7,8,9,10)
pass at 60% of the final grade
