Students:
1.know specific concepts and terminology of cultural, media and film theory (m-W-1/P6S_WG)
2. know the current state of research in the respective disciplines (k_W04/P6S_WG)
3. know of specific media and film institutions in the Anglo-American and European context, their technological advancements, economic bases and cultural significance m-W-2/P6S_WK)

4.Students can discriminate among various cultural forms and practices, describe them exhaustively and analyse them critically. (m-U-2/P6S_UW)
5. They can use a variety of methods for researching cultural texts, including examining meanings, influences and roles of the studied texts in terms of cultural tradition and heritage (m-U-1/P6S_UO)

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation (discussions about the topics listed in the syllabus and on the reading list, analysis and interpretation of media/film materials - 30% of the final grade (outcomes 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. End of semester test - 30 % of the final grade (outcome1,2,3)
3. Individual/team presentation - 40% of the final grade (outcomes1,2,3,4,5)
