- familiarising the students with lexical-grammatical and phonological rules of the Italian language at the A1+
- familiarising the students with institutions and cultural processes in the countries of the Italian language area
- developing Italian language skills at the A1+

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes acc to PRK 2019
Knowledge:
1. Student has thas the ordered knowledge of the Italian language; knows the lexical-grammatical and phonological rules of the Italian language at the A1+ level, and the rules of the selection of means for expressing specific types of information (m-W-1/P6S_WG)
2. Student has has the basic knowledge of institutions and cultural processes in Italy and is acquainted with current cultural life there (m-W-2/P6S_WK)
Skills
3. Studen has the ability to search for, analyze, select and use information utilizing various sources and methods, including online resources ( m-U-1/P6S_UW)
4. Student is able to use the Italian language in writing and speaking at the level A1+ of the Common European Framework for Languages with relative fluency, accuracy and communication efficiency in a wide range of general, topics (m-U-2/P6S_UK)
Social competences
5. Student shapes their own views on the basis of the gained general and detailed knowledge of the Italian language area (m-K-1/P6S_KK)
6. Student has awareness of the responsibility for the preservation of the cultural heritage, and tolerance for cultural diversity of other countries and nationalities (m-K-2/P6S_KO)
Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Three written tests - 50% of the final grade - (outcome 1,3,4)
2. Speaking - 30% of the final grade - (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
3. Active classroom participation - 20% of the final grade - (outcome 1,2,3,4,5). Max 2 absences.
Pass at 60% of the final grade
