Course objectives
- familiarising with office software in business environment
- developing IT skills
- developing basic skills in automation of IT tasks

Course content
At the very beginning of course each student undergoes a test verifying the current state of knowledge regarding text editing, spreadsheet calculations and presentation tools, as a point of reference.
During the course students are familiarized with Office tools capabilities such as: formatting and presentation of text in text editor (e.g. in Microsoft Word), creating a multimedia presentations (e.g. in Microsoft PowerPoint) and analysing in calculating workbooks (e.g. Microsoft Excel). Task undertaken by students are simulating practical use of Office tools in business environment.
Additionally, students will acquire basic skills in automation of certain tasks.

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learnign outcomes:
1. Active participation in practical assignments administered in the classroom 45% of the final grade (outcomes: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
Each assignment is divided into 5 tasks. For full completion of a task student is granted 2 points, for partial completion student is granted 1 point)
Each assignment is graded according to following framework:
5-6 points – 3,0
7 points – 3,5
8 points – 4,0
9 points – 4,5
10 points – 5,0
2. Final test: 55% of the final grade (outcomes: 1,3,4,5,6,7)
The test is divided into 5 tasks. For full completion of a task student is granted 2 points, for partial completion student is granted 1 point).
The test is graded according to following framework:
5-6 points – 3,0
7 points – 3,5
8 points – 4,0
9 points – 4,5
10 points – 5,0
All grades are discussed with students individually.
