Course objectives:
- developing students’ receptive skills such as listening and reading corresponding to C1 English proficiency level according to the criteria suggested by CEFR for languages.

Course content:
While interacting with particular content students will acquire the skills and strategies necessary to accomplish two primary purposes: getting the general sense of the message (written or spoken) and working out the details of a piece of reading or writing. Students will be provided with written and spoken texts concerning various areas of public communication, English in media, and English in business.

analysis of different types of written and spoken texts, various forms of exercises developing reaing comprehension and listening comprehension, in-class discussions, ICT tools/e-learning option if needed - MSTeams

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
1. Active participation - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. Two reading and listening tests - each 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)
To get a credit students need to pass all tests.

60-67% – 3,0
68-75% – 3,5
76-83% – 4,0
84-91% – 4,5
92-100% – 5,0
