Preparation of leisure educators 1.S3.JAT.PP.32
Course objectives
- acquisition of substantive knowledge and the ability to organize various activities for children and youth.
- getting to know the methods of working with a camp group
- developing the ability to prepare an educational and care work plan
- getting to know the applicable regulations regarding the life and health of participants and the duties of the group's tutor.
- getting acquainted with the forms and methods of working with children and youth, i.e. forms of physical activity carried out at camps and summer camps.
- familiarizing with the principles of proper nutrition, hygiene and wellness.
- understanding the development of children and adolescents and improving their overall fitness (shaping strength and strength endurance as well as flexibility).
- getting to know the theoretical foundations of physical activities - games and activities for children and teenagers and their impact on the young person's body.
- shaping pro-health attitudes.

Course content
I. Organization of recreation for children and youth:
1) the coordinating role of education authorities
2) applicable regulations
3) elements of developmental and educational psychology, taking into account the needs of children with special educational needs, including those resulting from disability, social maladjustment and the risk of social maladjustment
II. Organization of classes during the holidays:
1) the council of educators
2) the group as an educational team
3) organization and schedule of the day
4) regulations of the rest participant
III. Planning care, upbringing and educational work:
1) development of the group's educational plan
2) documentation of the tutor
3) the duties of the tutor of the group
4) methods and forms of implementation of educational plans
IV. Movement and recreation:
1) goals and tasks of physical education classes
2) methods of teaching swimming techniques
3) movement games and plays
4) team games
5) sports, sports Olympics, athletics
6) organization of classes for children with special educational needs, including those resulting from disability, social maladjustment and the risk of social maladjustment
V. Tourism and sightseeing:
1) goals and tasks of tourism and sightseeing in educational work during leisure time
2) organization of trips
3) organization of camps
4) field games
VI. Cultural and educational activities:
1) goals and tasks of cultural and educational activities
2) organization of cultural and educational activities, taking into account historical and literary values
3) cultural and upbringing elements in the daily schedule
4) keeping a chronicle
5) organization of ceremonies, parties, evenings, bonfires
6) club games and activities
7) competitions, exhibitions, discussions
8) singing, music, art, etc.
VII. Practical and technical classes:
1) objectives and tasks of practical and technical classes
2) forms and types of practical and technical classes
3) decorative and ornamental works
4) individual interests of the participants
5) development of participants' interests
VIII. Socially useful works:
1) objectives and tasks of socially useful works
2) the educational importance of socially useful work, volunteering
3) self-service work
4) work for the place of rest
5) work for the environment
IX. Safety of life and health of leisure participants:
1) safety regulations, including rules for dealing with criminal acts committed by minors, and
misdemeanors and crimes committed by guardians
2) health and hygiene regulations in the place of rest
3) first aid with the use of first aid training equipment, including a set for basic procedures resuscitation devices (e.g. phantom, defibrillator)

workshops in the lecture hall, multimedia presentation, work on phantoms, physical activities in the gym, analysis of materials, simulation, discussion, work in pairs, work in groups, ICT tools / MS Teams

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in the workshops - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11)
2. Written exam - 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,10)
Pass at 60% of the final grade
