Course objectives
- familiaring with the functioning of travel agencies.

1. Types of travel agencies and their specificity of functioning.
2. Organizational structure of travel agencies.
3. Cooperation of travel agencies with contractors, forms of business communication.
4. Legal and economic conditions of running travel agencies on the example of a functioning enterprise. Professional ethics in a travel agency.
5. Regulation of the tour operator market and travel agents
6. Services and products available in tourist enterprises.
7. Forms and marketing activities in tourism.
8. Structure and organization on the examples of various travel agencies.
9. The role of various tourist organizations in the functioning of a travel agency
10. Types and recognition of offers, segmentation of the tourist market.
11. Forms of communication, reservation and information systems in tourism.
12. Preparation and calculation of the tourist package.
13. Price policy on the example of a selected travel agency
14. Practical sale of tourist packages.
15. Problems in the operation of travel agencies, crisis situations, complaints.

The student knows and understands:

3. methodology of performing tasks, standards, procedures and good practices used in travel agencies (k_W10/P6S_WK)
Skills
The student is able to:
4. solve tasks related to running a travel agency through the right selection, evaluation and analysis of information obtained in the simulation (k_U02/P6S_UW)
5. independently search, analyze, evaluate, select and use information from written and electronic sources and develop professional skills related to running a travel agency (k_U05/P6S_UW)
6. independently plan, organize and implement typical projects related to running a travel agency (k_U06/P6S_UW)
7. participate in business communication related to tourist traffic (creating correspondence, conducting conversations, preparing documentation, etc.) in a travel agency (k_U12/P6S_UK)

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in workshops (execution of projects and practical exercises) - 50% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)
2. The end of semester knowledge test - 50% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)
Pass at 60% of the final grade.
