Course objectives:
- acquiring knowledge about geopolitics as a factor determining tourist traffic and shaping tourist potential
- developing the ability to identify the actual or potential impact of selected phenomena in geopolitics on the tourism sector.

1. Geopolitics - the meaning of the term
2. Features of geopolitical thinking, geopolitics and political geography
3. International order and geopolitical order
4. Geopolitical codes
5. Contemporary geopolitical thought in the world. Identification of the main geopolitical problems and the territorial scope of their impact.
6. Contemporary geopolitics of Poland. Geopolitical code of Poland.
7. Contemporary factors shaping the tourism sector. Tourism economy in terms of a network.
8. Selected geopolitical problems of the contemporary world. Analysis of case studies on tourist regions.
9. Conditions for the development of tourism and the geopolitical situation of a selected country.
10. Tourist traffic in Poland in the context of contemporary geopolitical conditions.

1. advanced techniques used in negotiations, communication, presentations, analysis and interpretation of texts on geopolitical conditions of tourism (k_W03/P6S_WG)
3. geographical, historical and cultural aspects necessary to support tourist traffic in geopolitical context (k_W11/P6S_WG)
Skills
The student is able to:
3. be innovative in solving tasks through the right selection, evaluation and analysis of the information obtained (k_U02/P6S_UW)
4. conduct basic research, do an analysis, select and use information using various sources, methods and IT skills (k_U04/P6S_UW)
5. take part in debates, negotiations and conversations and present and evaluate various opinions and positions related to a given topic in geopolitical context (k_U10/P6S_UK)

Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in the workshops - 10% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
1. Team project - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
3. Presentation - 15% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
4. Final test - 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,6)
Pass at 60% of the final grade
