Research Project 14-DIE-SK-RP
The aim of the project is to provide knowledge and practical skills in the field of conducting scientific work at the University, as well as to expand knowledge, skills and social competences in areas related to providing professional nutritional advice to dietary patients.
The project consists of several parts:
• participation in a scientific research conducted at the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine (Influence of probiotics on biochemic parameters in women with Hashimoto disease)
• participation in teaching classes, lectures and seminars for the field of Dietetics, at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Student self-work will include:
• preparation of a written report on biochemical changes in Hashimoto's disease
• preparing a poster for an international conference (with the help of the project supervisor).
• preparation of a written final report on dietary subjects, i.e. sports nutrition and communication with patients.

Knows the clinical features of Hashimoto's disease, causes, symptoms, treatment and is able to apply appropriate diet therapy.
Assesses and corrects the diet on an ongoing basis for people with normal and abnormal body weight (malnourished and/or overweight/obese).
Is able to plan and implement nutrition and supplementation adapted to the type of sports discipline or physical activity.
Knows the influence of hormones, physiological state, environment and emotions on hunger and satiety, as well as on the quantity and quality of food intake.
Is able to determine the patient's readiness to change habits and use the principles of Motivational Interviewing.
Respects patients' rights, including the right to information regarding the proposed dietary management and its possible consequences and limitations.
Complies with the principles of professional ethics, including responsibility for the effects of applied therapies, education and other activities related to the profession of a dietitian.
Assessment criteria
Evaluation of the poster by the Scientific Committee of the Conference.
Assessment of own work and prepared written work by the Project Coordinator.
Assessment of acquired knowledge - oral exam.
