Surgery and surgical nursing
Simulation Center- exercises are devoted to the preparation of patients for surgery and the nursing of patients after surgery in various surgical diseases
Practice in hospital- Acquainting with the specificity of the ward, documentation and tasks of a surgical nurse. Preparing the patient for emergency surgery and planned. Nursing the patient after surgery on days 0, 1 and 2. Postoperative complications, division and prevention. Planning nursing care for patients with various surgical diseases.
Obstetrics and gynecology, obstetrics and gynecological nursing.
Simulation center - Nursing care of a postpartum woman with puerperal eclampsia. Prevention of complications.
Physical and mental preparation of the patient for curettage of the uterine cavity due to miscarriage.
Complicated postoperative period after gynecological surgery. Recognition of complications, nurse's tasks.
Practice in hospital- Observation and care of the postpartum woman in the first days after physiological delivery and caesarean section. Participation of a nurse in gynecological diagnostics.
Neurology and neurological nursing.
Practice in hospital- Diagnostic research in neurology. Preparation of the patient for diagnostic tests and nursing after their performance.
Palliative care
Simulation center -Monitoring typical symptoms associated with advanced cancer.
Practice in hospital-Planning, organizing and taking care of the patient in the palliative care ward. Characteristics of the group of drugs, ways of administering them to the patient.The role of the nurse in the prevention, monitoring and treatment of pain. Symptoms of the dying process.
Internal diseases and internal medicine nursing.
Simulation center- ECG recording and interpretation. Analysis of basic cardiac arrhythmias. Proceedings in selected internal medicine cases.
Practice in hospital- Problems of caring for patients with diseases of internal organs depending on the course of the disease process.
therapeutic team; duties of the nurse towards the patient during hospitalization.
Pediatric and pediatrics nursing.
Simulation center- Physical examination of the child. The technique of performing basic anthropometric measurements Selected acute conditions in pediatrics.
Practice in hospital- Aspects of infant and small child care.
Psychomotor development of a child in the first 12 months of life.
Nutrition of a child up to 3 years of age. Medicines used in the ward. Ways of drug administration, principles of drug administration by different routes.
Transplantology and transplant nursing.
Practice in hospital- Nursing the recipient during the period of qualification for transplantation. Nursing the recipient during the waiting period. Nursing the recipient in the perioperative period and further after transplantation
Practical aspects of psychodietetics.
Behavior modification/Psychological intervention and psychodietetics.
Motivation and its role in psychodietetics. Emotions and their regulation and food.

Learning outcomes
In terms of knowledge, the graduate knows and understands:
1) development, structure and functions of the human body in normal conditions
and pathological;
2) etiology, pathomechanism, clinical symptoms, course and procedures
diagnostic and therapeutic in selected disease entities;
3) conditions and mechanisms of functioning of a healthy and sick person;
4) the health care system in the Republic of Poland and selected countries
of the European Union;
5) principles of health promotion and disease prevention;
6) models of nursing care for a healthy, sick or disabled person
and dying;
7) ethical, social and legal conditions for practicing the profession of a nurse.
In terms of skills, the graduate is able to:
1) provide services in the field of health promotion and disease prevention;
2) provide first aid and take rescue actions as part of resuscitation
cardiorespiratory;
3) recognize health problems and define priorities in nursing care;
4) independently organize, plan and perform a comprehensive and individualized nursing care for a sick, disabled and dying person,
using indications of current medical knowledge;
5) independently provide preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic services
and rehabilitation (to the extent specified in the regulations);
6) decide on the type and scope of care and nursing services;
7) cooperate with the patient's family or guardian in achieving the agreed care goals nursing and educational activities;
8) conduct medical history and physical examination in order to make a diagnosis nursing;
9)issue prescriptions for medicines, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses
and medical devices necessary for the continuation of treatment as part of the execution of orders medical;
10) analyze the quality of nursing care;
11) organize own work and work of subordinate staff and cooperate in teams
healthcare.
In terms of social competences, the graduate is ready to:
1) being guided by the good of the patient, respecting the dignity and autonomy of people
entrusted to care, showing understanding for differences in world views
and cultures, and empathy in the relationship with the patient and his family;
2) respecting the patient's rights;
3) independent and reliable practice of the profession in accordance with the principles of ethics, incl adherence to values and moral obligations in patient care;
4) take responsibility for professional activities performed;
5) consult experts in case of difficulties with independent solution
problem;
6) anticipate and take into account factors influencing own and patient reactions;
7) perceiving and recognizing one's own limitations in terms of knowledge and skills and social competences, and self-assessment of deficits and needs
