1. The concept of group in the field of psychological and sociological theories. Relationship between individual and group.
2. Elementary group processes: group initiation, group coherence; and the existence and development of groups' norms
3. The theory of social comparisons, role differentiation, leadership, influence of minorities
4. Sociometry - methods of measuring group structures.
5. Conformism - social impact in groups.
6. The situation of conflict and cooperation as elements modifying intergroup behavior.
7. Thinking about groups - social categorization and stereotypes.
8. Social identity and inter-group conflict and inter-group cooperation

Knowledge
As a result of the conducted classes, the student:
- fluently uses the terminology used in social psychology and sociology in order to describe processes occurring in groups;
- has an extensive knowledge of individuals and groups, their mutual interactions and impact on the environment;
- has extensive knowledge of the psychological mechanisms that guide the group and the influence of the environment and individuals on the functioning of groups;
Skills
As a result of the conducted classes, the student:
- uses the knowledge of psychology to analyze complex problems related to the functioning of the group and the relationship between the individual and the group;
- has the ability to observe the analysis of complex social situations as well as motives and patterns of human behavior resulting from functioning in a group;
- has the ability to work with a group and knows the techniques that shape and reduce the influence of individuals and groups on the functioning of the group;
Social competence
As a result of the conducted classes, the student:
- knows and observes the ethical principles related to influencing the functioning of individuals and groups;
- critically interprets the received content
Assessment criteria
The final grade will be determined based on the obtained number of points from the final test according to rules:
• satisfactory (3.0): if the student scores above 60% points
• good (4.0): if the student obtains above 75% of points
• very good (5.0): if the student scores above 90% points
Only one absence per semester is allowed. Each subsequent absence should be passed during the consultations. Having more than 1 unexcused absence makes it impossible to complete the course
Students are entitled to get a 0.5 higher grade , provided that they complete additional homework in the field of sociometry.
