Professional status:

The graduate is expected to have obtained interdisciplinary competence in linguistics, applied linguistics, literary studies, language history and culture. The said competence enables the graduate to use the knowledge of the language in various fields of science and social life. The graduate is expected to be able to solve professional problems, to store, process and transmit oral and written information, and to be an efficient member of a team. The skills acquired allow the graduate to become employed in business companies, travel agencies, translation bureaus, publishing houses, editorial staffs,, mass media, tourism, scientific institutions, institutions of higher learning, as well as services that require good command of the language and knowledge of various economic issues.

Teaching standards

Regulation of the Minister of Education dated Nov. 3, 2003 (Dz. U. dated Dec. 11, 2003)
The study program includes general education courses, core and field-of-study courses. The courses are offered as lectures, class debate seminars, classes and regular seminars. After having met all the requirements set forth in the study program (completing classes and passing examinations), the student takes an undergraduate examination before the Faculty Examining Board.
