Professional status:
The graduates of the Landscape Architecture major of master studies have advanced knowledge of the possibilities and ways to use the potential of the natural and cultural environment in shaping the landscape of cities and areas.
They obtain basic preparation to carry out independent research work.
They use advanced techniques and research tools applied in the analysis of phenomena and processes shaping the land area, including vegetation, which affects the nature of designing and managing of the landscape architecture facilities.
They can assess the impact of existing and planned landscape architecture facilities on the status of the natural environment individual components.
They can identify the causes of the landscape degradation and propose the appropriate solution to prevent and counteract its adverse transformation.
Furthermore, the graduates fluently speak a foreign language at B2+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They use specialised vocabulary in the scope of landscape architecture.
The studies also prepare to conduct own business as well as to start the third degree studies, and to continue lifelong learning.
The graduate has the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to work in the units:
- designing the landscape architecture facilities,
- implementing and taking care of landscape architecture facilities,
- of central and local government administration
and preparation to:
- perform assessment of vegetation of landscape architecture facilities,
- perform management projects of landscape architecture facilities, including antique facilities,
- taking care of landscape architecture facilities and elements of their equipment,
- control and supervision of the implementation and care work in the landscape architecture facilities,
- management of units dealing with designing, construction and taking care of landscape architecture facilities,
- cooperate with other specialists involved in designing, construction and taking care of landscape architecture facilities.
Learning outcomes
The student should complete the entire curriculum (in accordance with the guidelines of the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education nowadays Polish Qualication Framewor) for the Landscape Architecture major of the second degree studies, which means that the student has to pass all the subjects of the programme of studies (The programme of studies was adopted on 12 March 2015 at the meeting of the Council of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology), and achieve all the educational results approved by the Senate of Opole University (Resolution No. 95/2012-2016 of the Senate of Opole University of 26 March 2015).
