Teaching standards

The student is required to complete all courses as set forth in the study program complying with the teaching standards for first-cycle educational studies (as of Feb. 13, 2007, annex 78). Not all courses require an examination to be taken but all of them end in final assessment, either a regular grade or just a pass. For a course to be completed, a positive grade has to be obtained, which is also required in order to be admitted to taking an examination in a given subject. The student has to write a diploma thesis and to successfully defend it before the Faculty Examining Board while taking the final diploma examination. The diploma examination consists of two parts: examination in professional knowledge acquired during the studies and the defense of the diploma thesis. The final grade entered on the diploma is meant to be interpreted as follows: in 1/2, it is the arithmetic mean of all examination grades and those obtained from classes entered in the student's transcript, in 1/4, it is the grade awarded for the diploma thesis, and in 1/4, it is the grade obtained at the final diploma examination.
