EUROPA MASTER, called also “Weimar Studies”, is the unique trinational Master program in the area of European Studies that offers an opportunity of being awarded three Master diplomas of three partner universities: Opole University (Poland), Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany) and University of Burgundy (France). The classes are taught for the international group of students and administered jointly by the Institute of Political Science of Opole University, Institute of Political Science of University of Mainz and Faculty of Law and Political Science of University of Burgundy in Dijon.

Study program

EUROPA MASTER program lasts 4 semesters. During the first semester in Opole the program of study focuses on the cultural and social dimension of European integration as well as Central and Eastern European perspective on European integration. The classes are taught in English. Second semester in Mainz is dedicated to European Politics and political science. Classes are taught in German and in English. The focus of studies at Dijon during the third semester is European law and European institutions. Courses are taught in French.

Financing of the program

The conception and establishment of the EUROPA MASTER program has been supported by the DFH (Deutsch-Französische Hochschule) which also provides the mobility stipends for the participants during their study abroad. Partner universities apply also for financing from other sources, including Erasmus program and the grants from the regional institutions of partner countries.

KNOWLEDGE
Possesses in-depth knowledge in political science, its placement within the fields and domains of social sciences, and the relationships between them.
Has advanced knowledge of contemporary civilization dilemmas related to activities in the areas of political, social, media, economic, legal, and cultural structures and institutions.
Knows in an advanced degree the theory and advanced research methodology in social sciences.
Explains advanced norms and rules that organize social and political structures and institutions (legal, moral, and cultural).
Analyzes and interprets in an advanced manner the sources, nature, and changes in the principles governing structures and institutions, with particular emphasis on human creativity as a creator of culture.
Defines concepts and regulations in the field of intellectual property protection, copyright law, and individual entrepreneurship in an advanced manner.

SKILLS
Identifies and interprets social, political, economic, legal, and cultural phenomena occurring in the context of contemporary globalization and regionalization based on possessed knowledge, with particular emphasis on political science and administration within social sciences in a comprehensive manner.
Can identify, plan, and propose innovative and appropriate solutions to complex and atypical problems in the area of public administration and the third sector using project methods.
Can collect, develop, and interpret source materials in the field of political science and critically analyze them.
Being aware of the need for continuous learning and improving one's skills and competencies, can assess the impact of economic, political, legal, and social situations on entities and processes in the field of social sciences in an in-depth manner.
Participating in project teams, can independently shape the process of their own development and guide others in this matter.
Can use appropriate digital tools and techniques (including ICT and those enabling distance learning) in the field of political phenomena.
