- a place for research work for a doctoral student based on the promoter's library (paper and digital collections) and the resources of the UO Main Library, as well as specialized domestic and foreign digital libraries. The promoter also offers support in reaching specialized source databases containing materials about the universal history of the Middle Ages
- the possibility of applying for funding for research and trips to foreign scientific institutions on their own, or/and preparing a joint application for such financing
- cooperation in international projects conducted in Sicily by the UO Institute of History
