Professional status:

The graduate is expected to possess the skills that are required to conduct social studies independently and to design qualitative and quantitative studies. They should be able to use elementary field study techniques and to interpret their output. They should be able to effectively use the acquired theoretical knowledge and to analyze empirical data while referring to theoretical concepts and models. In particular, they should be able to design, monitor, and evaluate programs that are aimed at solving current social problems. They are also prepared to take up third-cycle (doctoral) studies. The graduate is qualified to find employment both in private sector (market and public opinion study institutions) and public sector (governmental administration and self-government), plus the so-called third sector (non-governmental organizations). The graduates of second-cycle studies obtain sociological education comprises both theoretical sociological knowledge and practical skills necessary for organizing empirical sociological studies. As a result, the gradute acquires the skills that are required to work professionally as a sociologist
