bachelor's degree studies full time, 3 years Language: English | Jump to: Opis ogólnyStudying at English Philology Speciality: Business English - practical profile If you want to be well prepared to face the challenges of a highly competitive job market, study English Philology with Business English speciality which follows the practical profile of the undergraduate studies. University of Opole in cooperation with Nutricia company have created an innovative programme that allows the undergraduates to link their academic growth with practical application of knowledge and skills. Students learn how to function in an international manufacturing company by developing their skills in analysis, planning, engineering, economics, or IT. They learn to use English in speech and writing at C1 level of CEFR for languages. The programme comprises several business subjects, such as business negotiations, international commerce and trade law to name a few (full information on the study programme is availablehere. BA studies finish with a BA defence and a BA degree. In the course of the studies students can do internships (3rd semester – 450 hours) at companies from various fields of business in Opole, or at their place of living. The BA thesis can be written in the business organisation under the supervision of an academic scholar and a business specialist from a given company. The practical profile offers a unique Internship programme in a company. Some of the classes and the internship are held in business organizations. Student affairs, options for development, exchange and scholarship Students can take part in a programme of competence development which offers visits at BPO organizations (PricewaterhouseCoopers, Capgemini, IBM, ATOS, and Stefanini), certified trainings in accounting and HR, workshops and graduate internships in companies with which the Faculty of Philology has cooperating agreements.

Undergraduate of English Philology Practical Profile knows and understands:
• position and importance of the English language and philological studies in the fields of business, culture, economy, information technology, law, media, politics, science and sociology;
• vocabulary, grammar, structures and stylistics in English at C1 level; technical, specialist and official (formal) English used for specific purposes;
• techniques used in negotiations, communication, debates, public speaking, presentations, analysis and interpretation of texts, for IT purposes and to learn correct pronunciation;
• specific terminology and techniques used in writing, critical analysis, listening, speaking and reading in English in order to solve specific problems; ways to express specific types of information;
• legal, ethical and linguistic considerations of their professional activity resulting from the studied discipline;
• principles of copyright and its protection in relation to various cultural products, in particular in the field of English philology;
• the contents associated with the elective module (as specified in a separate list of module learning outcomes).
Undergraduate of English Philology Practical Profile can:
• use different phrases, structures and stylistic rules in order to formulate and solve problems or complete formal or professional tasks both in writing and orally;
• be innovative in solving problems through proper selection, evaluation and analysis of the obtained information;
• recognize and write different types of specialist texts and create their own, coherent and logical arguments, and draw conclusions;
• conduct basic research, search, and analysis, select and use information using different sources, methods and computer literacy;
• read, listen to, and create texts in English, and make presentations on topics related to business, culture, economics, computer science, law, media, politics, science and sociology, using formal sources;
• use English at C1 level, with particular emphasis on specialist vocabulary, professional terms, technical terms, jargon, pronunciation, etc., especially when listening, writing, reading and speaking;
• formulate research problems and use appropriate tools and methods to analyse and discuss them with other specialists in the field of English philology;
