Teaching standards
In compliance with the teaching standards for sociological studies (ministerial regulation dated July 12, 2007, Dz. U. z 2007r. Nr 164, Załącznik 96), second-cycle studies take 4 semesters and 900 hours to complete. ECTS points - 120.
The student is required to complete all courses as set forth in the study program (lectures, classes, seminars, laboratories).
Each course ends with an examination or just a pass. For a course to be completed, a positive grade has to be obtained. In order to take an examination, a student is required to get a positive final grade in a given course.
At the end of the second year, the student has to write a graduate thesis and then defend it before the Institute's Board at the final examination.
The graduate examination consists of two parts: examination in professional knowledge acquired during the studies and the defense of the undergraduate thesis. The final grade entered on the diploma is meant to be interpreted as follows: in 1/2, it is the arithmetic mean of all examination grades and those obtained from classes entered in the student's transcript, in 1/4, it is the grade awarded for the undergraduate thesis, and in 1/4, it is the grade obtained at the diploma examination.
