- to develop a practical ability to prepare translations and interpretations of business texts between English and Polish, with attention to context and purpose.

Working on source materials related to various aspects of business activities. Translation practice of business presentations, press articles, marketing materials, formal document templates in business context.

The student knows and understands:
1. position and importance of the English language and philological studies in the field of business (k_W01/P6S_WG)
2. specific terminology and techniques used in translation of business materials (k_W04/P6S_WG)

The student can
3. read and understand texts on topics related to business (k_U05/P6S_UK)
4. translate selected texts from their mother tongue into English (k_U11/P6S_UU)
5. be innovative in solving problems through proper selection, evaluation and analysis of the obtained information (k_U02/P6S_UW)
Social competences
The student is ready to
6. critically evaluate their own skills and knowledge and the continuous improvement of their skills, including language ones, while carrying out professional activities such as business translation (k_K03/P6S_KK)
Kryteria oceniania
Forms of evaluation of learnign outcomes:
1. Active participation in classes - 50 % of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)
2. Translation of sample business materials - 50 % of the final grade (outcome 2,3,4,5,6)
pass at 60% of the final grade
