Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve students’ writing skills and the aspects of grammar which influence the skill of written composition at C1 level. One of the aims is preparing students to pass C1 self-study - writing part.

- "for-and-against" essays and opinion essays,
- formal letters,
- structure of introductory and closing paragraphs,
- grammatical aspects relevant in the group

writing tasks, grammar excercises, text analysis, individual work, pair work, class discussion, ICT tools/e-learning option if needed/MSTeams

2. use advanced vocabulary and structures (relative to C1 level) to present ideas in writing (k_U04/P6S_UK)
3. use different registers depending on the type of writing (k_U02; P6S_UW)
4. fluently communicate in English by writing different types of essays at preliminary C1 (k_U05/ P6S_UK)
5. identify the meaning and grammar connections among various elements of the text (k_U03/ P6S_UW)
Social competences
Student:
6. is confident in writing in English at C1 level (k_K05/ P6S_KR)
Kryteria oceniania
Form of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation during classes - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3)
2. Writing assignments - 80% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3)
To get a credit students need to pass all writing assignments.
Tests marks are granted according to the following framework:
grade 2,0 (fail): 0–49%
grade 3,0 (average): 50–59%
grade 3,5 (plus average): 60–69%
grade 4,0 (good): 70–79%
grade 4,5 (plus good): 80–89%
grade 5,0 (very good): 90–100%
