Fundamentals of economics 1.N3.EP.BE.1
Course objectives:
In the course, the student gets acquainted with basic principles and issues in economic science. The student should understand the most important economic processes at the micro- and macroeconomic level and develop skills for analysing these processes. The student should develop the skill to apply the knowledge obtained to her/his own economic choices.

- economics as a discipline of knowledge,
- theory and practice of microeconomics. The market. Supply, demand, price,
- theory and practice of macroeconomics,
- employment and unemployment,
- the labour market in the macroeconomic context,
- inflation,
- international economic relations,
- business cycles in the market economy,
- consumer theory, welfare economics, market failures,
- equilibrium on the market,
- money, international trade, the balance of payments.

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
Forming evaluation
20%: 2 individual in-class problem-solving tasks (learning outcomes: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)
20%: 2 group in-class problem-solving tasks (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)
60%: one final test, pass at the minimum of 60% (1,2,3,5,6)
Summarizing evaluation:
Weighted arithmetic average of the above.

total score: 0 – 59% - mark: 2,0
total score: 60 – 68% - mark: 3,0
total score: 69 – 76% - mark: 3,5
total score: 77 – 84% - mark: 4,0
total score: 85 – 92% - mark: 4,5
total score: 93 – 100% - mark: 5,0
