Course objectives:
Alongside introducing the basic academic contexts of sociolinguistic dyscipline, the course aims to illustrate the current areas of sociolinguistic focus, such as modern discourses reflecting present-day social phenomena, e.g. consumerism and resistance, "othering" social dynamics, global cognitive reality.

1. Active participation in classroom activities – 50% of the final grade (outcomes: 1,2,3,5,6)
2. Final written test – 50% of the final grade (1,2,3,4)
