Course objectives
- making students aware of the differences between the Italian phonetic systems
- making students familiar with the most important phonetic phenomena;
- teaching correct articulation of sounds, stressing words and proper use of the intonation patterns of the Italian language

1. Introduction to the course
2. Introduction to phonetics: graphic and sound implementation of the language
3. Phonemes and graphemes in Italian
4. Consonants: combinatorial variants (the letter H followed by the letters C - G)
5. Consonants: combinatorial variants (letter Q)
6. Vowels: articulation A, E, I, O, U with the letters C - G.
7. Italian accent and now-time accent
8. Intonation
9. Consonants: combinatorial variants (L - GL, N - GN)
11. Consonants: combinatorial variants (S - SC)
12. Double consonants and differences between deaf and voiced sounds
13. Dictation exercises
14. Dictation test
15. Test analysis and evaluation

Kryteria oceniania
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Final test - 30% of the final grade (outcome 1,2)
2. Written assignment - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3)
3. Speaking - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2)
4. Active classroom participation - 10% of the final grade (outcome 1,2)
Pass at 60% of the final grade
