Course aims:
The course aims at developing students' listening and reading skills at C1 level. One of the aims is preparing students to pass C1 self-study - writing part.

Course content:
Listening comprehension: understanding informative monologues, conversation held by two or three people and also abrupt fragments of speech presenting one topic matter.
Reading comprehension: different forms of texts on the basis from which a student has to find out or match particular elements of information. Vocabulary and language structures: variety of texts presenting structures requiring correction, completion or transformation according to a given model.

Knowledge
1. Students have a proficiency in English at C1 level, know grammatical, lexical and stylistic rules of correct uses of English, as well as of various registers to be used appropriately to social contexts (k_W02/P6S_WG),
2. Students know the main methods of analysis and interpretation of uses of language in listening and reading materials (k_W04/P6S_WG),
Skills
3. Students can perform language tasks requiring comprehension of various texts in English, both oral and written, applying reading and listening stategies (k_U05/P6S_UK)
4. Students can use English (relative to C1 level) when listetning and reading, and identify the general point/attitude and to find specific information in authentic public communications (k_U06/ P6S_UK; m-U-4/P6S_UK)
5. Students can work individually and in cooperation with others (k_U09/P6S_UO).
Social competences
6. Students are ready to critically evaluate their own language skills pertaining to comprehension in English at C1 level (K_K03/ P6S_KK)
Kryteria oceniania
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in the classes - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)
2. A credit test at the end of the semester - 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,4,6)
pass at 60% of the final grade
