Course objectives:
The course aims to give students the basic knowledge of standard British English pronunciation (suprasegmental phonetics). It is designed for students to improve their pronunciation of sounds in context .

individual and group work, practical exercises, repeating recorded sounds, reading transcribed sounds, transcribing, ICT/E-learning tools if needed

1. Student has organised knowledge of English phonetics, particularly regarding selected suprasegmental aspects. (k_W02/P6S_WG)

2. Student can communicate intelligibly in English applying the rules of suprasegmental aspects of standard British English pronunciation (e.g. strong vs. weak forms, linking, rhythm and intonation) . (k_U05/P6S_UK)
3. Student is ready to cooperate with others applying the knowledge of English phonetics regarding suprasegmental aspects. (k_U08/P6S_UO)
Kryteria oceniania
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Oral reproduction (recording) - 40% of the final grade (outcome 2)
2. Transcription test - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1)
3. Individual practice based on visual and audio online materials provided by the teacher - 20% of the final grade (outcome 2, 3)
Pass at 60% of the final grade
