Current events: argumentation skills 1.S3.EPC.22
Course objectives:
The objective of this course is to give students the confidence and practical strategies to use their English speaking skills in arguing various topics based around current events at C1 level of proficiency. This will involve a degree of collaboration with their colleagues combined with research and critical analysis. Students will practice further presentation techniques, including the use of IT presentation software, improve their public speaking confidence, as well as gain a good deal of practically acquired knowledge on argumentation and debating.

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation - 45% of the final grade (outcomes 1,3,4,5)
2. A researched argumentative sustained discussion - 55% of the final grade (outcomes 1,2,3,4,5,6)
Criteria of evaluation:
60% = 3
80% = 4
100% = 5
