Course objectives
The course aims at developing academic writing skills necessary to skilfully write academic texts, including systematic research practices, using library sources, paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting sources to avoid plagiarism.

Students can:
4. use the terminology and take theoretical standpoints in reference to theoretical models derived from research in communication, media and language studies (k_U01/P6S_UW)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
- Active participation in classes - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
- Graded written assignments
1. paragraph writing (summary, paraphrase) - 30% of the final grade (outcome 1,3,4,5,6)
2. section planning and documenting sources - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,4)
3. in class text analysis and evaluation - 15% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,4,5,6)
4. in class or self-study error correction - revising - 15% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,6)
Criteria of evaluation:
60% = 3
80% = 4
100% = 5
