Religion in International Relations 12.01.T.RIR
The purpose of the course is to present basic issues connected with so called „return” of religion into the field of International Relations at the end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI century. The class is aimed at stressing that the religious dimension is still, though differently than in the past, an important sphere of social and political life resulting both in positive and negative developments. Among topics discussed there will resurgence of religion in IR, secularization, desecularization and postsecularism, “ambivalence of the sacred”, models of relations between politics and religion, Europe and USA on the world map of religion, Church-State relations in Europe, Holy See and its role in IR, development and meaning of the religious peacebuilding.
