Course objectives:
Alongside introducing the basic academic contexts of sociolinguistic dyscipline, the course aims to illustrate the current areas of sociolinguistic focus, such as modern discourses reflecting present-day social phenomena, e.g. consumerism and resistance, "othering" social dynamics, global cognitive reality.
