Listening and reading activities illustrating various business situations and circumstances, such as marketing, office and company environment, finances, production, management, business ethics, online business.
Idiomatic expressions and grammatical constructions used in th area of business English.

Knowledge
Students know and understand
1. vocabulary, grammar, structures and stylistics in English at C1 level in presented in written and oral form; technical, specialist and official (formal) English used for specific purposes in the area of marketing, office and company environment, finances, production, management, business ethics, online business (k_W02/P6S_WG)
2. specific terminology and techniques used in listening and reading in English in order to solve specific problems (k_W04/P6S_WG)
Skills
Students can:
3. recognize and comprehend different types of specialist texts presented in written and oral form regarding the area of business, economy, trade, e-commerce, marketing, coroprate structure and culture, stock market, finances, work management (k_U03/P6S_UW)
4. read and listen to texts in English referring to the area of business, economy, trade, e-commerce, marketing, corporate structure and culture, stock market, finances, work management (k_U05/P6S_UK)
5. use English at C1 level, with particular emphasis on specialist vocabulary, professional terms, technical terms, jargon, pronunciation, etc., especially when listening and reading (k_U06/P6S_UK)
Social competences
Students are ready to:
6. undertake individual and team activities to improve the quality of their work as far as reading and listening skills are concerned (k_K07/P6S_KR)
Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in classes - 10% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. Four mini tests during the semester (2 reading comprehension tests and 2 listening comprehension tests) - 30% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
3. End-of-semester test - 60% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
Criteria of evaluation
- mini tests – (for a + 60% and more,or - less than 60%)
1 plus 3,5; 2 pluses 4,0; 3 pluses 4,5; 4 pluses 5,0
- end-of-semester test
Final mark is granted according to the following framework:
Grade 2.0 (fail) – 0-59%
Grade 3.0 (average) – 60-67%
Grade 3.5 (plus average) – 68-75%
Grade 4.0 (good) – 76-84%
Grade 4.5 (plus good) – 85-92%
Grade 5.0 (very good) – 93-100%
