Course objectives:
- enriching the students' vocabulary (in terms of general vocabulary),
- equipping students with knowledge in the area of the so-called translator's workshop and translation process,
- developing the skills of efficient use of source materials, including those available online (dictionaries, forums for translators),
- developing the ability to translate various types of non- specialized texts.

Activities developing language skills in the area of written translation of non-specialized texts from English into Polish and Polish into English.

1. is familiar with the basic terminology and conceptual framework of translation studies (m-W-1/ P6S_WG)
2. has a working knowledge of the theoretical approaches to translation and the main research paradigms (m-W-2/P6S_WK)

3. has the ability to search for, analyze, select, and use information related to translation by consulting academic and popular sources and tools, including electronic ones, apply techniques for collecting data, and produce good-quality translations (m-U-1/P6S_UW)
4. is able to analyze target language (TL) translations in relation to their source language (SL) texts and evaluate the former objectively and constructively (m-U-2/P6S_UW)

5. is ready to make responsible and ethical use of translation products and practices in and out of the classroom (m-K-1/P6S_KR)

Assessment criteria
Forms of eveluation of learning outcomes:
1. Written tests (mid term and end of term) 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. Informed participation 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)

60%-70% 3.0,
