Course objectives
• listening to simple statements (dialogues, short monologues), simple questions, tips and instructions,
• understanding the general content of simple written texts,
• participating in simple communication situations, expressing basic intentions, brief information about oneself, the environment, other people, etc.,
• pronunciation of Polish sounds,
• writing learned words and sentences, providing your own personal data.

Grammar issues:
Alphabet
Conjugation of verbs: być, nazywać się, mieć, pracować, iść, jechać, gotować, lubić, kupować, robić, spać, pić in the singular form
Singular instrumental
Grammatical genders of nouns and adjectives in the singular
Numbers 0-1000
Demonstrative pronouns
Interrogative pronouns
Accusative of nouns and adjectives in the singular
Possessive pronouns

Methods of teaching/forms of instruction:
communicative approach = work with authentic materials, practical exercises, dialogues, discussions in pairs and groups, simulations, role-plays, communication games and activities, pre-communication exercises, the use of various media, training in the development of individual skills, exercises with the information gap.

The student
1. has basic knowledge of Polish as a foreign language; knows the lexical, grammatical and phonological rules of the Polish language at the A1 level and the rules for the selection of means to express specific types of information (m-W-1)
2. has basic knowledge of public communication in Polish as a foreign language (m-W-2)

3. has the basic ability to communicate in Polish as a foreign language in various situational contexts, including public communication in the field of general (m-U-1)
4. can use Polish as a foreign language at A1 level (m-U-2)
Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
1. Active participation in classes (performing class assignments) - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)
2. End of semester oral test - 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)
pass at 60% of the final grade
