Course objectives
• listening to short utterances (dialogues, short monologues), simple questions, hints and instructions,
• understanding the general content of short written texts,
• participating in simple communication situations, expressing basic intentions, brief information about oneself, the environment, other people, etc.,
• pronunciation of Polish sounds,
• writing learned words and sentences and short texts about everyday life.

Methods of teaching/forms of instruction:
communicative approach = work with authentic materials, practical exercises, dialogues, discussions in pairs and groups, simulations, role-plays, communication games and activities, pre-communication exercises, the use of various media, training in the development of individual skills, exercises with the information gap.

1. has basic knowledge of Polish as a foreign language; knows the lexical, grammatical and phonological rules of the Polish language at the A2 level and the rules for the selection of means to express specific types of information (m-W-1/P6S_WK)
2. has basic knowledge of public communication in Polish as a foreign language (m-W-2/P6S_WG)

3. has the basic ability to communicate in Polish as a foreign language in various situational contexts, including public communication in general topics (m-U-1/P6S_UO)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
1. Active participation in classes (performing class assignments) - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. End of semester test and oral utterances - 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)
pass at 60% of the final grade
