Public Communication in Polish as a foreign language 1.S3.EPC.EPL.3
Course objectives:
• listening to utterances (dialogues, monologues), questions, hints and instructions,
• understanding the general content of written texts,
• participating in communication situations, expressing intentions, information about yourself, the environment, other people, etc.,
• pronunciation of Polish sounds,
• writing texts about everyday life.

Course content:
Reacting in emergency situations, making appointments with a doctor, Describing how you feel and symptoms of illness,
Reporting random events,
Describing everyday activities,
Presenting plans,
Expressing emotions,
Describing the professional situation and professional competences,
Describing the type, location, size, operating costs of the apartment,
Determining the location,
Describing the natural environment, climate and landscape,
Expressing opinions on ecological problems,
Describing kinship and family relationships,
Describing Christmas customs, making wishes,
Determining measure, weight and quantity.

Methods of teaching/forms of instruction:
communicative approach = work with authentic materials, practical exercises, dialogues, discussions in pairs and groups, simulations, role-plays, communication games and plays, pre-communication exercises, use of various media, training in the development of individual skills, exercises with the information gap.

1. has basic knowledge of Polish as a foreign language; knows the lexical, grammatical and phonological rules of the Polish language at the B1/B22 level and the rules for the selection of means to express specific types of information (m-W-1/P6S_WK)
2. has basic knowledge of public communication in Polish as a foreign language (m-W-2/P6S_WG)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
1. Active participation in classes (performing class assignments) - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. End of semester test and oral utterances - 55% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)
pass at 60% of the final grade
