Course objectives:
to familiarize students with:
- selected concepts of law in tourism.
- terminology in the field of tourism law and the place of tourism law in the legal system.
- the basic institutions and legal acts in the field of tourism

Course content:
1. Sources and genesis of law in tourism basic terminology tourism notion of tourism, tourist, traveling, tourist event, customer, travel agent
2. Theoretical approach to the traveler in social sciences: selected sociological theories
3. Methodological aspects of law in tourism
4. Obligations of the entrepreneur of tourist services
5. Contract for participation in a tourist event
6. Protection of the rights of travelers and the information obligation of the tour operator
7. The right of the traveler to withdraw from the contract for participation in the tourist event before the start of the tourist event. Replacement benefit
8. implementation of the contract for participation in a tourist event
9. Civil law liability of the tour operator towards the client
10. Liability of the air carrier towards the traveller
11. Unnamed contracts in tourism: hotel, banquet,
gastronomic.
12. Named contracts in tourism
13. Legal restrictions on mountain tourism, partner expeditions

Knowledge
The student knows and understands:
1. at the advanced level the position and importance of philological studies in the legal sphere, with particular emphasis on tourism services (k_W01/P6S_WG)
2. legal terminology used in legal documents in the context of tourism and the specificity of the application and interpretation of law in a basic scope (k_W04/P6S_WG)
3. legal and ethical conditions related to the profession of tourist guide and tour leader (k_W05/P6S_WK)
4. legal conditions for the functioning of institutions related to tourism, including legal requirements related to the types and classification of hotel facilities as well as legal regulations and procedures regarding administrative obligations related to travel

Skills
The student is able to:
5. use and integrate theoretical knowledge with the scope of tourism law in order to analyze complex problems legal and social issues arising in the context of tourism law (k_U02/P6S_UW)
6. efficiently analyze the provisions of the tourist law in order to select the right tools to be used in practice in tourism industry (k_U05/P6S_UW)
7. use normative systems efficiently, norms and rules regarding tourism law, using appropriate tools and methods to analyze them and discuss them with other specialists (k_U09/P6S_UK)
Social competence
The student is ready to:
8. critical assessment of one's own competences and knowledge in the field of law in tourism (k_K03/P6S_KK)
Assessment criteria
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in the workshops - 30% of the final grade (outcome1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)
2. Presentation (a written speech in front of the group) - 20% of the final grade (outcome 2,3,4,5,6,7,8)
3. The end of semester written test - 50% of the final grade (outcome 2,3,4,5,6,7,8)
Pass at 60% of the final grade.
