Course content
1. grammar: past tenses, conditionals,
2. communication: pair works, group works, and individual performances to train communication skills,
3. four skills: different exercises and testing techniques based on CAE examination requirements.

Assessment criteria
Form of evaluation
1. active participation during classes and preparation: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
2. two tests: 1, 2, 3, 4.
Criteria of evaluation
1. two tests (mid and end of semester) – 80%
2. active participation in class and preparation to classes (continuous assessment) – 20%
The course ends with an exam (written and oral) in the summer session.
To get a credit students need to pass all tests.
Tests marks are granted according to the following framework:
grade 2,0 (fail): 0–59%
grade 3,0 (average): 60–67%
grade 3,5 (plus average): 68–75%
grade 4,0 (good): 76–83%
grade 4,5 (plus good): 84–91%
grade 5,0 (very good): 92–100%
