Czego uczy się na Filologii romańskiej od podstaw?

Kierunek obejmuje kształcenie w zakresie języka i literatury francuskiej w perspektywie kulturoznawczej i socjolingwistycznej. Charakter kształcenia umożliwia studentom nabycie kompetencji w zakresie wiedzy o języku, literaturze, historii i kulturze Francji. Dzięki dużej ilości godzin praktycznej nauki języka, program studiów gwarantuje zdobycie zaawansowanej znajomości języka francuskiego od podstaw do poziomu C1 Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego Rady Europy. 

Na pierwszym stopniu studiów studenci mają do wyboru trzy moduły:

 1) specjalistyczne aspekty komunikacji w języku francuskim – moduł rozwija kompetencje językowe i komunikacyjne w zakresie francuskiego języka specjalistycznego (np. języka francuskiego instytucji europejskich, języka francuskiego w biznesie, komunikacji medialnej, komunikacji międzykulturowej, inne);

2) przekładoznawstwo – moduł przygotowuje do zawodu tłumacza, pozwala poznać różne rodzaje przekładu oraz trudności w pracy tłumacza. 

  3) język włoski – moduł umożliwia posługiwanie się językiem włoskim w mowie i piśmie na poziomie B2 Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego Rady Europy. 

Co wyróżnia filologię romańską od podstaw na UO?

O wyjątkowości Filologii romańskiej od podstaw decyduje przede wszystkim nowatorski profil kształcenia, który dostosowany jest do aktualnych standardów nauki języków obcych na poziomie akademickim oraz do potrzeb rynku pracy i możliwości zatrudnienia absolwentów. Kierunek daje możliwość studiowania filologii romańskiej tym maturzystom, którzy w szkole średniej nie uczyli się języka francuskiego. 

Możliwości rozwoju, wyjazdów, stypendiów

Studenci mogą korzystać z programu wymiany studentów Erasmus+oferowanego przez Uniwersytet Opolski, który daje możliwość odbycia części studiów w zagranicznej uczelni, lepszego poznania języka obcego, innego kraju oraz innej kultury.

Romanistyka prowadzi współpracę naukowo-dydaktyczną z uniwersytetami we Francji (Strasburg, Dijon, Montpellier, Mulhouse, Toulouse); w Portugalii (Porto); w Hiszpanii (Santiago de Compostela, Valladolid, Santander, Oviedo); na Łotwie (Ryga), na Słowacji (Bańska Bystrzyca). 

Programu Erasmus+ umożliwia również zagraniczne wyjazdy na praktyki zawodowe.  

Możliwość kontynuowania nauki

 Dzięki szerokiej gamie przedmiotów kierunkowych oraz przedmiotów do wyboru absolwent jest uwrażliwiony na wielokulturowość i przygotowany do kontynuowania nauki na studiach drugiego stopnia (magisterskich).  

Co można robić po tych studiach?

Kompetencje językowe, komunikacyjne, interpersonalne i społeczne predestynują absolwenta do pracy w przedsiębiorstwach międzynarodowych, instytucjach kultury, administracji państwowej i samorządowej, w różnych jednostkach organizacyjnych, np. departamencie współpracy z zagranicą, promocji, public relations, zarządzaniu zasobami ludzkimi. 

Kierunek w pełni dostępny dla osób ze szczególnymi potrzebami.

Access to further studies:

The first-cycle studies prepare graduates for further education at the second-cycle studies.

Professional status:

The graduate of the Romance Studies from the Basics has the ability to speak and write in French at the level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), has general knowledge of the language, literature, culture and history of France, and has basic translation and philological skills in the analysis and interpretation of texts. Thanks to the acquired skills he or she can work in publishing houses, magazine editorial offices, cultural institutions and the service sector requiring an advanced knowledge of the French language. At the same time, the first-cycle studies in philology prepare students for further education in the second-cycle studies, the recruitment and admission requirements of which stipulate the competences acquired at the first-cycle studies. The programme of studies includes 90 hours of internship.

Learning outcomes

The graduate of the Romance Studies from the Basics programme knows:
- the place and significance of the language studies among humanities, selected research problems, and used analytical tools and methodological approaches;
- basic linguistic and literary terminology and theories within theories and research schools of Romance studies;
- basic methods of analysis and interpretation and elements of academic discourse in relation to the studied discipline;
- selected facts, phenomena, objects of a cultural, historical, geographical, literary and political nature pertaining to France;
- the complex nature of linguistic phenomena and structures;
- ethical and linguistic determinants of his/her professional activity resulting from the studied discipline, the rules of copyright and its protection in relation to various works of science and culture, in particular in the field of Romance studies.

The graduate of the Romance Studies from the Basics programme can:
- apply terminology, refer to arguments and formulate logical conclusions on the basis of other authors' research and take theoretical positions resulting from Romance studies;
- search for and select sources, evaluate, analyse critically and synthesise information;
- under the guidance of the supervisor, formulate research questions and solve problems using appropriate research methods and tools;
- communicate with the public using French at level C1;
- read and produce texts in French and prepare elaborate presentations using formal sources by means of information and communication technology;
- use another foreign language at level B2+
- take up individual and group activities aimed at developing language skills
- discuss, take part in debate, present his/her own opinions, plan and organize individual and team work in order to exchange experiences;
- use the acquired knowledge and skills to deepen their own academic interests and interests of others
- use his/her knowledge of French literature, culture and history to critically analyse texts of a cultural, historical, geographical, literary and political nature;
- translate selected texts from French into Polish and from Polish into French

The graduate of the Romance Studies from the Basics programme can:
- critically evaluate their own knowledge and skills in order to solve problems arising from professional tasks (such as text translation, text writing or language support in institutions and companies) individually and in cooperation with other experts;
accept linguistic and cultural differences and recognize them as natural professional factors;
- participate in various forms of cultural life;
- comply with the rules of professional ethics and develop their French language skills in the process of lifelong learning.
