Celem kształcenia na kierunku Pielęgniarstwo jest wyposażenie absolwentów w szeroką wiedzę merytoryczną, umiejętności oraz kompetencje społeczne niezbędne do wykonywania zawodu pielęgniarki/pielęgniarza.

Czas trwania studiów stacjonarnych pierwszego stopnia

  • 6 semestrów,
  • plan studiów obejmuje 4786 godz., w tym 2300 godzin kształcenia praktycznego (zajęć praktycznych i praktyk zawodowych)
  • Możliwość kontynuacji kształcenia: studia drugiego stopnia, studia podyplomowe, kursy specjalistyczne, kwalifikacyjne oraz szkolenia specjalizacyjne zgodnie z zasadami i formami kształcenia podyplomowego pielęgniarek.

Uczelnia w pełni odpowiada za organizację i nadzór nad przebiegiem kształcenia teoretycznego i praktycznego. W ramach studiów studenci mają również możliwość odbywania bezpłatnych praktyk poza granicami kraju, dzięki czemu poznają specyfikę pracy w zawodzie pielęgniarki/pielęgniarza w Europie. Studia na kierunku Pielęgniarstwo w naszej Uczelni łączą najlepsze tradycje zawodu pielęgniarki z nowoczesnością i potrzebami współczesnego rynku pracy.

Studia pierwszego stopnia

Studenci podczas studiów pierwszego stopnia nabywają podstawową i specjalistyczną wiedzę z zakresu pielęgniarstwa, ogólną wiedzę z zakresu innych nauk medycznych i społecznych, umiejętności zawodowe oraz kompetencje społeczne niezbędne do sprawowania holistycznej opieki nad osobami dorosłymi i dziećmi, w zdrowiu i chorobie. Pielęgniarstwo jest tym kierunkiem, który rozwija wszechstronnie, dzięki czemu absolwenci mogą wykazać się licznymi kompetencjami.

Absolwenci po ukończeniu studiów przygotowani są do:

  •     samodzielnego wykonywania zawodu zgodnie z zasadami etyki ogólnej i zawodowej, holistycznego podejścia do pacjenta, uwzględniającego poszanowanie i respektowanie jego praw,
  •     udzielania świadczeń w zakresie promowania, zachowania zdrowia i zapobiegania chorobom,
  •     wykonywania świadczeń zapobiegawczych, diagnostycznych, leczniczych i rehabilitacyjnych oraz medycznych czynności ratunkowych,
  •     sprawowania całościowej i zindywidualizowanej opieki nad pacjentem niepełnosprawnym i umierającym,
  •     współpracy w zespołach opieki zdrowotnej,
  •     edukacji zdrowotnej i promocji zdrowia,
  •     inicjowania i wspierania działań społeczności lokalnej na rzecz zdrowia.


Absolwenci studiów pierwszego stopnia, uzyskując tytuł licencjata pielęgniarstwa oraz prawo wykonywania zawodu (wydawane przez Okręgowe Izby Pielęgniarek i Położnych), mogą samodzielnie realizować świadczenia w zakresie promowania i zachowania zdrowia, zapobiegania chorobom oraz sprawować całościową i zindywidualizowaną opiekę nad człowiekiem chorym, niepełnosprawnym i umierającym. Pielęgniarki/Pielęgniarze otaczają opieką dzieci, osoby dorosłe i w wieku podeszłym, w zdrowiu i chorobie.

Uzyskane kwalifikacje są zgodne ze standardami Unii Europejskiej w zakresie opieki pielęgniarskiej. Absolwent może podjąć pracę w placówkach ochrony zdrowia w Polsce, a także za granicą, może również prowadzić własną praktykę zawodową, ma również możliwość kontynuowania nauki na studiach drugiego stopnia.

Professional status:

The graduate of the first-cycle programme in nursing is prepared to pursue the profession independently. The graduate knows and understands: development, structure and functions of the human body in normal and pathological conditions; aetiology, pathomechanism, clinical symptoms, a course and methods of diagnostic and therapeutic proceedings in selected disease entities: conditions and mechanisms of functioning of healthy and sick persons; health care system in the Republic of Poland and selected European Union member states; principles of health promotion and disease prevention; models of nursing care for a healthy and sick person, a disabled person, and a person dying; ethical, social and legal conditions of performing the nursing profession. Within his or her competences, the graduate can: provide health promotion and disease prevention services; administer first aid and undertake rescue actions within cardiopulmonary resuscitation; identify health problems and determine priorities in nursing care; organise, plan and provide comprehensive and individualised nursing care of a sick person, a disabled person, or a dying person, using guidelines of the current medical knowledge; provide preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services (within the scope defined in relevant regulations); decide on the type and extent of nursing care services; collaborate with the patient's family or guardian in meeting the nursing care and educational goals; perform subjective and physical examination in order to formulate nursing diagnosis; issue prescriptions for drugs, foodstuffs for special nutritional purposes and medical products, necessary for continuation of treatment within the execution of medical orders; perform quality analysis of nursing care; organise his/her own work as well as that of the subordinate staff, and collaborate within health care units. In terms of social competences, the graduate is ready to: act for the patient's good, respect the dignity and autonomy of persons in their care, show understanding for world-view and cultural differences and empathy in relations with the patient and his/her family; respect the patient's rights; independently and diligently perform their profession in accordance with the principles of ethics, including compliance with values and moral obligations in patient care; take responsibility for performed professional activities; consult experts in the event of difficulties in solving a problem on their own; foresee and consider factors influencing their own and the patient's reactions; notice and recognise own limitations in the area of knowledge, skills and social competences and carry out self-evaluation of deficits and educational needs. The graduate, in accordance with the learning outcomes set out in the educational standards for first cycle studies in the field of nursing in the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the educational standards preparing for practice of the profession of physician, dentist, pharmacist, nurse, midwife, laboratory diagnostician, physiotherapist and paramedic of 26 July 2019. (Journal of Laws of 2021. item 755 and in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 28.02.2017 on the type and scope of preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services provided by a nurse or a midwife independently without a doctor's order (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 497) and in accordance with the Act of 15 July 2011 on Nursing and Midwifery Professions (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 2702 as amended) in the scope executing doctor’s orders in diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation, has the right to: perform specified diagnostic tests and issue referrals for specified diagnostic tests; prescribe medicines containing specified active substances (excluding medicines containing very potent substances, intoxicants and psychotropic substances) and substances for special nutritional purposes, including issuing prescriptions for them; order specified medical products, including issuing orders or prescriptions for them after a personal physical examination of a patient. 5.3. The graduate completed coursework preparing them to communicate and analyse medical literature in English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in accordance with the educational standards set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 26 July 2019 on educational standards preparing to practise the professions of doctor, dentist, pharmacist, nurse, midwife, laboratory diagnostician, physiotherapist and paramedic (Journal of Laws 2021, item 755 as amended).

Learning outcomes

As of 1 October 2018, teaching outcomes became learning outcomes - Act of 3 July 2018 - Legislation introducing the Act - Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 as amended). The learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences leading to a full qualification at level six of the Polish Qualification Framework are in line with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the standards of education preparing for the profession of doctor, dentist, pharmacist, nurse, midwife, laboratory diagnostician, physiotherapist and paramedic of 26 July 2019 (Journal of Laws 2021, item 775 as amended) and defined by the Resolution No. 10/2020-2024 of the Senate of the University of Opole of 17 September 2020 on the amendment of the study curriculum for the first-cycle programme in Nursing at the UO. The student is obliged to achieve all the assumed learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and social competences included in the study curriculum, which is confirmed by the appropriate course/module credit (pass/fail, pass with a grade, exam). In order to obtain credit for a semester, the student needs to obtain passes in all courses/modules included in the programme of studies for a given semester (except for internships which are credited in the yearly system) in accordance with the passing requirements and assessment criteria applicable to a given course/module. In the course of the last year of studies the student must write a diploma thesis, which after being positively assessed by the supervisor and the reviewer allows him/her to take the diploma exam. Passing the diploma examination is a prerequisite for graduation. The diploma examination consists of two parts: theoretical and practical, and its course is in compliance with the applicable Rules of Study and the Diploma Procedure defined in the Regulation No. 81/2021 of the Rector of the University of Opole of May 17, 2021 on rules for preparing and archiving diploma theses at the University of Opole. In the course of the study, the graduate completed a total of 4780 didactic hours, including 2480 hours of theoretical training and 2300 hours of practical training (clinical training within the meaning of Directive 2005/36/EC) in:
- public and non-public health care institutions of in-patient and out-patient treatment (including primary health care).
