Course objectives
The course enables students to acquire skills in searching, ordering and using information from various electronic sources, as well as effective management and presentation of the collected data.

1. Opole University IT services (Eduroam, Usosweb, Webmail and e-learning platform)
2. Basic information on information technology, information safety and copyright protection, the role of Internet networks and information
society
3. Local electronic library catalogues
4. Databases and catalogues of the National Library in Warsaw
5. Global Library Catalogues, e.g. The Congress Library catalogue, WorldCat
6. The Gutenberg Project and other world literature resources
7. Digital Libraries
8. Text processing
9. Text formatting
10. Scientific databases
11. Preparing a strategy of information search
12. Preparing multi-media presentations
13. ESL software evaluation

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation and project delivery:
1a. Project preparation/group work - 20% of the final grade (outcomes: 1,2,3,4,5)
1b. Project preparation/individual work - 60% of the final grade (outcomes: 1,2,4,5)
1c. Informed particiption and rate of absenteeism - 20% (pluses: 8 = 3,0; 9-10 = 3,5; 11-12 = 4,0; 13-14 = 4,5; 15 = 5,0) - 20% of the final grade (outcomes 1,2,3,4,5)
