Course objectives:
-- developing language aspects - grammar and vocabulary at C1 level
-- developing language skills with language use - oral and wirtten utterances at C1 level
--developing test taking skills
--preparing for C1 self-study exam in the aspect of language use

Course content:
1. advanced grammar structures - complex sentences: relative clauses, passive reporting, conditional sentences, linking and transition
2. testing English - test tasks included in C1 examination papers: sentence transformation and paraphrase, word formation, open and close gap tests (reading and use of English)
3. discussions and debates on current topics in culture and society; argumenting
4. producing texts - sentence combining and paraphrase; essay writing

3. use English level C1 with the emphasis on reading and producing texts in English and preparing presentations related to current cultural and social issues (k_U06/ P6S_UK; m-U-4/ P6S_UK)
4. take up individual and group activities aimed at developing language skills and study techniques ensuring success in learning and work (k_U09/P6S_UO)

Students are ready to

Kryteria oceniania
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:
1. Active participation in classes - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)
2. A final test on reading and structure - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)
2. A main task - 20% each of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)
The main task may have a form of:
An written essay on a topic chosen or suggested by the teacher
An oral presentation on a topic chosen or suggested by the teacher
Students may take one or both main tasks depending on what they want as the final result.
pass at 60% of the final grade
