Course objectives
The aim of the course is to
- improve students’ grammar and structures of English language at C1 level of advancement.
- improve students’ fluency in style,
- develop solving-tasks techniques.

1. verbs + infinitive or –ing (unit 19)
2. style: modifiers, parallelism, faulty comparisons, omission, is when/is where
3. organizing text
4. articles (unit 17)
5. Use of English exercises

Methods of instruction/ forms of classroom activity:
short texts analysis, various forms of exercises, in-class discussions, ICT tools/e-learning option if needed - MSTeams

The students knows and understands:
1. stylistic and grammatical rules of English at the C1 level, in particular, the usage of verb patterns, articles, rules of style and text organization (k_W03/P6S_WG)
2. main methods of analysis and interpretation of style and structures in public communication at C1 level (k_W04/P6S_WG)
Skills
The student can:
3. use grammatical rules of verb patterns and articles and stylistic aspects of text organization of the English language at the C1 level (k_U05/P6S_ UK)
4. recognise and analyse the chosen style and grammar elements at C1 level in relation to public communication (k_U02/P6S_UU)
5. take up individual and group activities aimed at developing accuracy in language use (k_U08/P6S_UO)
Social competence
Students can:
6. critically evaluate and solve linguistic problems regarding the accurate use of language and style in English (k_K02/P7S_KK)
Kryteria oceniania
Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes
1. Active participation - 20% of the final grade (outome 1,2,3,4,5,6)
2. Two language tests - each 40% of the final grade (outome 1,2,3,4)
To get a credit students need to pass all tests.

Level C1
60-67% – 3,0
68-75% – 3,5
76-83% – 4,0
84-91% – 4,5
92-100% – 5,0
