The course introducing Taiwan, China, Singapore and some other Chinese speaking area in English shows a panorama of the cultures in these countries:
Unit 1: Overview of Taiwan and Taiwan's Historical Development
Unit 2: Brief Introduction to China, Singapore and Malaysian and Thai Chinese immigrants.
Unit 3: Dynasties in China and Evolution of Chinese Characters
Unit 4: Religious Diversity: Folklore Religions, Buddhism, Taoism, and the Influence of Christian Missionaries
Unit 5: Celebrations: Holidays and Festivals
Unit 6: Folk Practices: Marriage, Funeral and Taboos
Unit 7: Food Culture: Exploring Culinary Traditions
Unit 8: Typical Art and Literature Introduction
Unit 9: Student Cultural Exploration Presentations
