Interpersonal skills – practical workshops KZ-01-00-000009-E
Course objectives
• getting to know the theoretical framework concerning wide range of aspects related to interpersonal communi-cation
• improving students’ interpersonal skills with a view to participants’ functioning in various social environments
• training on such detailed issues as: assertiveness, verbal and non-verbal communication, barriers to effective communication, resolving conflicts, negotiating and making decisions
• planning and realizing the original project focused on critical analysis of media communication or intercultural aspect of interpersonal communication
• developing team cooperation skills: group communication, negotiating, making decisions, leadership, time plan-ning, evaluating individual and group work
Course content
1. Verbal communication – listening, asking questions and clarifying.
2. Non- verbal communication (kinesics, proxemics, haptics, chronemics, olfactics, para-language, adornment)
3. Communication styles, including intercultural contexts.
4. Assertiveness (feeling of self –esteem, different aspects of rejecting, dealing with people’s opinions).
5. Conflict resolution, including intercultural contexts.
6. Critical analysis of media communication.
7. Planning and realizing the original project focused on critical analysis of media communication or intercultural aspect of interpersonal communication.
